I had the same experience and wished I had done it right away after the car left the dealership. I grew up with Hondaās and have even driven modern manual transmissions and although I get the purpose of the cdv, when someone is experienced driving manual it just gets in the way. Good for you...
As far as I know and have heard, the 2025 Z4 6MT is the same clutch and transmission as the MKV 6MT aside from the shifter itself and allegedly ābetterā weighted one Toyota put in the MKV.
I actually think the 2025 Z4 6MT will help push the adoption of new after market clutches once there are more owners on the road. The amount of 6MT MKV owners is just not enough for companies to develop anything,
Something is not adding up. I wonder if Toyota is simply just trying to scare you away. You should take this opportunity to upgrade the clutch to something better than stock just in case you add my mods later and unlock the ECU.
Probably the same motorcycle cop that pulled me over which has made me consider trading in my MKV for a used or older Porsche to be more under the radar. I am bone stock aside from the exhaust and catted downpipe. True story that adds more insult to injury: I take my 5 and 7 year old boys for...
I would like to one day drive an FL5. They are rare to even see on the road around here let alone drive one. My only complaint with the MKVās manual transmission is how much power the stock clutch can withstand. BM3 Stage 1 or 2, an E50 tune and the clutch is starting to slip already. Meanwhile...
Nah. I grew up on manuals and have driven modern manuals. Although YouTube did push the hype, my MKV 6MT is an absolutely fun and rowdy car. The gearbox is exceptional and no regrets.
After itās ceramic coated, wash it with Carpro Reset or if you want more affordable, go with Adamās Mega foam. Gentle and it will keep your ceramic coat going long term. I have a ceramic coat on my wifeās suv from almost 3 years ago that beads like nobodyās business going strong. I use the same...
Iām in Orange County and got pulled over in Newport Beach with an Active Autoworks catted downpipe and an ARK Exhaust. Even though a couple Lamboās drive past us who were WAY louder while we were off the side of the road. Honestly the burnt tips didnāt help which was the only thing the cop...
There arenāt a lot of options yet from the aftermarket. ACT made a clutch for T.J. Hunt when he cooked his MKVās clutch but ACT said they donāt offer one for sale yet. Iāve read that the Uni Clutchās dual disc approach is outdated, but some articles say itās worth it. The only thing I know about...
What issues if you don't mind me asking? I get tired of the Toyota BMW haters online saying Toyota (Magna Steyr) built a piece of crap with the collaboration. How BMW's are so unreliable that this thing will fall apart in the near future, etc. The typical "it's not a realible true toyota like...
I agree with this comment. These guys on the forums adding big turbo kits and crazy amounts of power are braver than I am. It's got enough power to zip in and out of traffic or out of a jam if needed and that's good enough for me.
Bought my 2023 A91 6MT Februay 2023. So far I'm at 5,357 miles. It's not my daily and I work 7 miles from home so my commute is short. I can also work from home a couple days of the week. The MKV is my grocery getter or car to run errands in.
Their customer service is LACKING badly. They have big projects or higher profile clients that often times a Femto unlock, downpipe or BM3 install are such small jobs to them they drag their feet. You seem to have an inside scoop with your connection so I wouldnāt be too worried honestly. I have...
Donāt be surprised though. We can probably look up some numbers, but Iām pretty sure there have been less MKV Supras made than there ever were MKIV Supras made. I have a feeling the MKV will be hard to get a hold off in 10 years because of the low production count.
