You need to get out more. Its not uncommon in places for young adults to reside with parents/extended families. Its family and important. If the OP has a life, even living at home good for him. The fail is your assessment of this by applying your limited view on the subject. Its his life. Not yours.
Still living in mom's basement are ya? That's your silly pansy arse opinion. Be independent. :flame:

No, absolutely not. Save for a house. This is what I tell all of my new young hires who get dollar signs in their eyes and want to go buy an expensive depreciating asset. They all do it anyway, I bet you will, too 🤣

I agree, most of the actually world lives with parents and families no matter success or age. USA is just a weird outlier really.

What kind of company gives a 21 yr old a six figure salary?
21 is awfully young, but generally in the US it’d be someone with a degree in an in-demand field like engineering. To your point, most B.S. college grads are 22+ years old and only certain markets command six figures for fresh college grads in the engineering world. I’m sure there are other fields, engineering is what I know, though.

To make that kind of money at that age and not take 100% advantage by saving up and buying property would be crazy - and probably typical.

Thats what im saying assuming hes just a regular guy who graduated highschool at 18 and not some young sheldon genius who skip grades and attend college as a kid, theres no way he would have a bachelor degree yet unless somehow he got all the classes he needed in summer and winter so that would make him a nonstop all year student. Even still to land a six figure job with no real experience and especially post covid world… something aint right here. Im assuming he works a normal standard job like engineering, accounting, etc… but for all we know he could be some social media “ influencer” or some online bs.
or he might have just been made vice president in his dad very successful company Lmaoo

Funny how Americans consider having their adult children at home disgusting.
That’s what I gather from many of the answers here.

I have teenager children at home. If they want to stay with me in my home for a little longer, I’d be a very happy father, and I would go with them to the dealership to pick up that nice new Supra they bought with their own money.

But I was raised on a different culture, seems that the standard American way is to have children and start thinking about how much longer before they get rid of them.

That’s why so many people die old and alone in this country.

It’s a very common thing to see in my medical practice.

Coming from a Filipino family, it's rare for young adults to NOT live with their parents until they are fully established or decide to move out on their own. I moved out when my Fiancé and I got serious and got an apartment together (mid 20's). I'm sure my parents would of loved for me to live their longer but decided myself to get away from the nest. One bucket list goal I had was to buy a house before I was 30 and living in the Bay Area (California), that's no easy feet but achieved it.

My recommendation is if your parents are cool and lets you be independent, then why not live with them and save up. But definitely recommend saving for a house if that is one of your goals. Also, it helps with dating, rather go to your own home versus having to sneak people in while your parents are asleep. Unless that tickles your fancy.

Supra's will be available and wont be hard to get one in great condition used either when they stop producing it. You got to decide if you want short term clout or long term clout cause the house is long term clout.

btw, for those that are new here, I'm just kidding around as usual.

Happy Father's Day to all you father's out there. Now kick your 22+ year old lazy pansies out of the house and tell them to become real adults.

Supra owner here.
nothing wrong with living at home to stock up cash while driving economy car. It’s a slap in the face to your parents to live at home while driving nice cars/ or spending money on dumb shit.
1) stay at home to save money for home. Value garentee to double in value.
2) move out and do what you want, leave your parents out of it.
3) if you ever do dumb shit, don’t finance it, cash only.
Took me to my 40s to own a Supra cash but I have no debt and never bother anybody for money or support. Complete freedom is priceless.
yes I follow most of Dave Ramseys principles and any borrowing/helping means your a slave to the lender/giver. Thanksgiving diner doesn’t taste the same when your serving your master.
