BM3 Start-up Roar always present

After flashing with cold start delete, and burbles off, I noticed that every single start up has the roar. This even happens in the cold mornings when the vehicle has not warmed up. Even louder when the vehicle has warmed up too. Has anyone else had this issue?

I haven't had that happen, but supposedly you will not pass emissions with your cold start marked as OFF.

I just did my inspections last week and passed emissions no problem. State of PA. I don't see why cold start would play a factor with emissions

on stock tune, the start-up roar occurs when the car has gone through the catalytic warming cycle

on a tune with cold start delete, aka skipping the catalytic warming cycle, start-up roar will always occur

i don't know how/what disables this tho

great to know! Can you post your readiness monitors on here that show on the test?

PA doesn't provide specific data during emission tests sadly. Only on Fail will it specify what is not operating "properly".

From my experience, the startup roar always happens no matter what. The cold start delete just drops the rpms so it'll to to the "idle" rpms faster.

I don't see the need for the roar if we're catless. Im curious if anyone has gotten that startup roar to turn off.

Yeah like the main reason I turned off cold start was (obv) don't want to piss off my neighbors in the morning when I start my car. Now I have to deal with the roar.

The alternative is to use pool noodles lol...

At this point I gave up and I'll deal with it if I get more complaints. I'm running a catless dp with boostlogic exhaust

As stated, cold start warm up and start up roar are two different things.

Start up roar is set by requesting additional torque request on startup, which causes that rev flare.

BM3 only has "On, Original, and OEM" settings for the GTS start up roar settings. There's no "off" option.

There is no ON or OFF option. Mine is left alone (OEM)
