Hi Fellas,

Any reccommended alignment / wheel balancing places you've brought the Supra to; care to share your experience/recconmendations?

I've had mine 15 months, 3,100 miles, planning to get this done at the year-2 major service at Toyota RRG later this year, trying to decide whether to add this onto the regular service at the dealer and do it all at once, or bring it to a specialist place specifically for alignment etc.

I heard/read lots of horror stories about poor alignment of Supras from factory, wonder if any of you lads had this issue.:)

Thanks chaps.

I did mine at BackonTrack Motorsport in Guildford. It is definiely worth doing if you lower your car, or did anything to the suspension.

I had my alignment done with Richard at Tuned Uk near Wrexham when I first got the car. I then went back this year and he fitted new MSS springs and put a fast road set-up on it. Supremely happy with the result. Really knowledgeable. Getting a Zero thrust angle as well makes a hell of a difference.

Do the above places do alignment to specification then? I.e. they wont always follow what the book says but do what you would prefer?

I think you are relying on expertise Richard sets up race cars so really understands chassis set up.

I can only talk for my experience I was clear that I wanted turn in to be a bit more responsive than standard as I like the car to react more sharply when applying lock.

On springs I didn't want it to be much lower and also to not lose low speed compliance and comfort but to reduce roll under load at speed when running cross country. So the MSS have 2 spring rates which was perfect for me as this is my daily driver.

Thanks I understand. Please bear with me as I really don't know about these things - so totally get the expertise factor, but can I ask if you know, are there certain factory thresholds that are required from toyota that indipendent garages will have access to as a reference, if someone just wants it to be aligned to "stock" factory?

Don't quote me but I think that depending on the wheel alignment system they are just called up from a database depending on your vehicle type.
