Valentine is still my favorite by far. Yes, they are still around. The Gen 2 has been a great unit for me so far.

I've always used them with great results. Have a V1 Gen1 in my Supra and another in the wife's car. I've been reluctant to go to the Gen2 as, here is California they really only use Ka and Laser so I just disable the other bands and I like the analog knob.

I have a R4 and run Waze when on longer trips. Works great on the highway.

I just got something cheap on Amazon to mount and hardwire the R8 on the mirror/homelink in the Supra:

Straightforward process. DC battery. Pull the mirror shroud apart and down towards the dash and there's a couple of connectors there you can tap into. With the above kit you can just slide the positive/ground pin ends of the hardwire kit into where the wires insert into the connector pins - you'll need to use needle nose pliers with some force to jam them in. Put shroud back on. Put on mount. Reconnect battery and everything should work.

If you want a nicer mount, blend mount makes one that does look cleaner. It's also over $100.

I went with the max 360c mkii, I figured it was the best All around (if worse comes to worst, i got 14 days to return it). Dope steering wheel btw

When my dad was alive he told me to just set the cruise to the speed limit or 2 mph above & enjoy the ride, get better gas mileage, and thus no worries about tickets. Of course being a kid, I only thought “shut up old man, what do you know”. I tried all the radar detectors & they worked most of the time

Fast forward to today - ever since I started tracking the out of my vehicles, I just set the cruise at the speed limit (or 2 mph above) and let the cars fly by me. I no longer trust those crazy mofos on the highway. I just sit back and enjoy the ride & other side of this Supra.

So now, like my dad, y’all can say “shut up FLtrackdays!” . Who woulda thought I‘d actually listen to the guy. He’s probably turning over in his grave.
