Battery Replacement

Has anyone with a 2020 Supra had to replace their battery yet? If so what did you purchase as a replacement and did you need to register the battery? Did you purchase from dealer?
How long do the OEM batteries typically last?

Which one did you order? I didn't easily find a supra specific battery on the site. Did you just order a Z4 battery?

Liked it so much, got one for my Mazda MX5. Put her in today.

Edit: holy this sucker starts up fast - couldn’t be happier. I’ll let y’all know 5 & 10 years from now how she does

Only thing I will mention just so people are aware on the Lithium batteries, just make sure you have them fully charged or close to a full charge before replacing them

It’s on there and the steps for installing. Not as straightforward like the Mazda.

Side note: you know you still have a serious car fixation/problem when you’re still taking pics of your car in a parking lot . I have to hold myself back from hitting the start button. She fires up so fast now!

Appreciate it! I checked & my Supra one is still fully charged after sitting around waiting on the OEM one to die. At room temp (25 degrees Celsius) they store incredibly well.

I’’ve often wondered why everyone is so insistent on a battery tender as well as how long the battery will last I’ve never used a tender on a 2020 with 46k miles Dec 2019 delivery. My 2022 with around 7k March 2022. Never had problems with the battery, nor used a tender. Both garaged in every kind of weather possible Ohio.

if anyone has replaced their Supra battery, I’d be interested to know the miles and time and if they used a tender.

My car sat at the dealership for 5 weeks without a charge. These batteries are massive!

mine was replaced by the dealer with about 10 miles on the car. battery went dead at the port and wouldn't hold a charge during their dealer prep. was a whole ordeal because I had to fly in, and the factory batteries were backordered and the dealer wouldnt let me take the car home without one.

we ended up with a compromise of signing a waiver saying I was ok with a non-oem battery.

I’ve had mine sit for months without starting or tender and still fired up without issue. Even had a severe bout of cold where the 2020 was outside in the cold -20 or so and fired right up after 2 days.

Drive your car often and it’s not really an issue. But great if you’ve got multiple cars or they sit for a bit.
