Is your code reader bmw specificHi All , sorry to revive this thread !
I have a check engine light in my car, I looked at the engine and my forge catch can was unplugged on both top hoses.
I plugged them back on and I thought that would be the issue !
The CEL still there , I plugged in a scanner and it says that there are no trouble codes .
I don’t want to take it to the dealer just to have the code cleared .
Any of you experience this ?
best regards

Try putting your car in diagnostic mode -while car is off do three quick presses of the start button with no foot on brake pedal.Hi All , sorry to revive this thread !

If I remember correctly the car will not leave diagnostic mode until you press the start button again after being in diagnostic mode.I will try to do that. .. but what about when if I can read the code?
Will the car send itself out of diagnostics mode?

I did that yesterday but the light still on ..Protip: leave the negative battery cable disconnected and the code won't come back
