Umm.. but the clutch is a wear item.

While I'm not doubting the folk who have encountered issues are experiencing a genuine fault, the reality is that driving manual is a skill and if you don't drive properly, you can very well destroy your clutch prematurely. 💁‍♂️
An aggressive driving style will do the same

Not really. I have given my Type R a lot of hard miles in its 15 years and I'm still on the same clutch.. 200,000km later!
I agree with this. Once engaged the clutch (assuming you aren't past the power levels that the friction materials can withstand), isn't really wearing much. Most of the wear is during initial engagement (1st and reverse) or during gear change, but can largely be mitigated via rev matching

I'm easy on clutches but I know people that can kill them in no time flat just through poor driving habits. There's a reason it's difficult to get warranty on a clutch unless it's something that the owner cant control like a leaking slave or master cylinder.
The amount of times I've seen muppets use the clutch to hold the car on a hill at a set of lights you wouldn't believe. Then they complain they get no life out of a clutch plate and flywheel. They are out there folks, everywhere.

My wife is a really really good driver. But…. when she was 1st learning to heel & toe, she ripped right through the car’s OEM clutch at Sebring going from 5th to 2nd, I mean literally (I’ve posted that pic before). The local race shop had us replace it with a race clutch. We definitely learned to be more smooth after that and how to row through the gears properly 😂

Great!!!

After all this time waiting patiently and finally owning it, never thought that the clutch was going to be a problem.

Im having dejavu now. I’m feeling like the time I owned an Evo X MR.

I called everywhere to find it and end up trading it in because the DCT won’t hold up after a small turbo upgrade.
I love the car and jump on it because it is a manual. But didn't expect to have so horrendous service from the dealer I bought to cars in less than 6 months. My working horse TRD Tacoma and my daily the Supra. Time to trade in… Back to Ford 😂😂😂

Based on our interactions I'm placing you as the first one to call with an offer to buy mine if my health and/or finances ever goes pear-shaped and she has to go ;)
At least your wife knows where she stands 😉 (edit: just realized you’re talking about the car 🤭)

Terrible closest dealer experience for me too. I‘ll never use them again. Hope there’s another one close to you. That is the car’s weakest link imo. I do have a great mechanic that does non dealer stuff. So that helps. Hope you can find the same before you give her up 😢

I enjoyed this multi quote very much

That clutch 😲. At least she understands that if you're gonna break it, go full send 😂

More like 5-10 I know about 4 already in PR
4 blown clutches on a91MT's in PR alone? Color me a little skeptical. How many a91MT's are there even on the island? Can't be many more than that.

Ya I know there are a few MT’s there but 4-5 already experiencing issues? I’m still pretty positive my issue isn’t the clutch itself, not to sound pompous but I know how to drive a stick and not roast the clutch and it’s never been dumped or even tracked yet, no launches at all. This issue is a slave cylinder or pressure plate pivot pin issue forsure. Or electronic
