If you remove it from your car is the dealership able to tell that you increased the boost? In other words does the computer keep a log of the max boost?
thx
Given enough digging nothing is invisible despite what some companies may say/advertise.

That said the dealership itself does not have the capability to dig that far down into the ECU. Nor would it be something they would be looking for in a service visit anyway. However, in the case of a catastrophic and costly failure (engine/transmission) a specialized tech will be brought in with more complex factory tools to diagnose and they can easily detect those types of changes. This is the case at least in the BMW world so it may be a bit different w/ Toyota -- not as familiar there.

No updates that I am aware of. To my knowledge a test letter has not even been sent out requesting a car from that end so it's still likely a ways out if that is the case.

Ahh I see.

KInda random but do you have dB readings for your cat-back exhaust for the 3.0? Again, trying to stay under 95dB... california.

Atleast in normal mode.

Do not unfortunately. General topic was discussed in the exhaust thread (https://www.supramkv.com/threads/dinan-valved-exhausts-for-the-toyota-gr-supra.18749/page-5) starting at post #63. Some color involved from other members and a general comparison to the M2 exhaust where we do have dB measurements but nothing really definitive to say it would pass or not. Give you some food for thought if nothing else though.

Yeah, unlike that caffeine-fueled disabled vet from the Carolinas that spews bold claims & makes his products out of a broom closet. Guy's gatekeeping AF.
Yeah fuck that guy

Description: The DINANTRONICS X is the newest installment of the highly successful Dinan foray into inline tuning modules. Like its predecessors it is a highly engineered piece of computer hardware and software that enhances engine performance to levels the stock programming is not allowed to venture. It does this without affecting long term reliability or the functionality of on-board diagnostic systems when run under recommended operating variables. Unlike its predecessor however, the DINANTRONICS X is Bluetooth smart and offers convenient access to the adjustment of power levels directly from the palm of your hand.

A further advancement beyond its entry level little brother, the DINANTRONICS SPORT, X connects to additional inputs and/or has a more refined tuning strategy that yields more power as a result. For those that do not wish to (or can't) alter their stock ECU with a more robust engine flash the DINANTRONICS X is a perfect alternative to satiate the craving for "more". Whichever level of engine tuning is ultimately chosen you can be sure to be pleased by the result. The Dinan Difference is possible by employing a full staff of talented engineers that are well rounded in many facets of automotive engineering and backed by a wealth of hands-on knowledge. Stemming from diverse backgrounds not only on racing teams but on standard factory production line vehicles, we have seen it all. Manipulating these signals/maps with an adept hand, all the while keeping an engine running at its best and with the most reliable power, is what Dinan is all about.

How does this compare to the Turbo Transformer, which allows you to dial in the slope as well as the boost? Is power delivery better, or just pre-configured?

Short answer is the Dinan unit is pre-configured but they essentially can do the same things. Again, all piggybacks are playing with generally the same levers as one another so differences are nuanced at best. However, TT appears to plug into MAP/TMAP but not the CAM sensor like the Dinan or RC units do. The addition of CAM essentially allows for slightly more aggressive mapping to be achieved so the ceiling is likely higher on the latter options. Pretty small in the grand scheme of things but a difference nonetheless.

this is one of the simplest and most correct explanations for this I have ever read, this is exactly it.

Any idea when these are going to be available? They've been on back-order every time I've checked.

Technically available -- they can be built at least. Once certain components get down to a certain level of availability (harnesses specifically) they become more build to order than openly stocked on the shelf. Whereas the internal components are the same across all SKU's there are about 10 different harnesses amongst the applications so production doesnt like to build up SKU's where they may sit on the shelf and then an order gets placed for another SKU that uses that same harness which they can no longer fulfill. Once additional stock of the harness comes in that is above "critical" they will start to build out small quantities of each to show as in stock on the website but right now its in the down time where its essentially BTO.

TL;DR -- Sub-assembly parts are here so it can be built to order once an order is placed (typically a 3-5 day turn depending on how backed up the productio/kitting crew is).
